Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania’s most rewarding safari destinations, renowned for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Located in northern Tanzania, the park covers approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles) and is named after the Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline and the primary water source for wildlife during the dry season.

During the dry months (June to October), thousands of animals migrate to the Tarangire River, creating one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Tanzania outside the Serengeti. Visitors can witness impressive herds of elephants, along with lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, elands, and many other species. The park is also home to rare animals such as the fringe-eared oryx and the greater kudu.
